Gestational Diabetes Symptoms
Gestational diabetes affects many women who become pregnant in the United States and in many other parts of the world as well.
Gestational diabetes symptoms are hard to notice and this can be a problem because it is important to know if you have gestational diabetes to treat it as soon as possible.
How can you tell if the symptoms you are experiencing are regular pregnancy symptoms or symptoms of gestational diabetes?
One of the most noticeable signs of gestation diabetes is a more than normal amount of weight gain, although gaining weight is normal during pregnancy you should check with your doctor to know what the healthy amounts of weight gain are and when weight gain can be a sign of gestational diabetes.
Another gestational diabetes symptom is increasing hunger and thirst, more than usual. Once again, many women do experience regular "cravings" during pregnancy but gestational diabetes increases your hunger and thirst more than the normal amount.
Other symptoms women have experienced due to gestational diabetes are yeast infections but once again this symptom can be deceptive since pregnancy causes fluctuating hormones and many women experience yeast infections during pregnancy despite not having gestational diabetes.
There are several other symptoms as well such as nausea, blurred vision and feeling tired more than usual.
However the only way to know if you have gestational diabetes or not is through blood work.
If you think you may be experiencing gestational diabetes symptoms it is important you see your doctor to get blood work done and to be able to know if you have gestational diabetes or not.
